SHERLOCK HOLMES IS COMING TO TOWN!

Sherlock Holmes: The Early Years Show LogoWhen this show won the full-length musical competition in our 2006 New Works Festival, we asked the authors to work on some re-writes with the promise of a full production.  The work went so well that the show landed a slot in the New York Musical Theatre Festival last fall, won the 2007 Theatre for American Musical (TAM) Award and played to sold-out houses!  After another round of writing, we know that this may be the funniest show you’ll see this year. Ken Skrzesz stars as Sherlock Holmes, with Charles Woods as Dr. Watson, and a supporting cast including Donna DeKuyper, Valorie Jarrell, Lorraine Steinhoff, David Button, Jerry Birl, Esther Friend, Craig Porter, Hunter Graves, Jeff Haslow, Gerald Mood, and Amanda Curry. The show plays at the Little Theatre of Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes on March 13-15 at 7:00 and March 16 at 2:00. A reception for the cast and authors ($20 additional ticket) will be held at La Rosa Negra on Savannah Road in Lewes following the show on Saturday night. DEIDRE GOODWIN SIGNED

Deidre Goodwin ImageBroadway Star, Deidre Goodwin, has been signed by Clear Space to appear in Broadway Voices 2008!  Ms. Goodwin has been featured in Chicago (opposite Melanie Griffin on Broadway and in the film), Dreamgirls, Nine (with Chita Rivera), Never Gonna Dance, Funny Girl, Chita Rivera: The Dancer’s Life, Boys From Syracuse, Jesus Christ Superstar, Rocky Horror Show, and is currently starring in the revival of A Chorus Line. Ms. Goodwin will present her one-woman show filled with music and stories of how she made it to Broadway. The performances will be Saturday, May 31 at 7:00 and Sunday, June 1 at 3:00. Don’t miss the chance to see this dynamic performer live! Tickets are on sale through our box office at 644.3810 or buy tickets online at www.ClearSpaceProductions.org

NEW GROUP RATES

Clear Space now has four groups available to entertain at your next meeting or gala. Broadway Bound – our hand-picked 18-member group of young performers; The Clear Space Singers – a select group of 16 singers from the 60-voice Clear Space Chorus; 100 Years of Broadway – a four member cast of multi-talented performers in a salute to Broadway; and An American Songbook 2008 – featuring the CSP Artistic Directors, Doug Yetter and Ken Skrzesz in a marvelous new concert of Broadway music from yesterday and today. All of our outreach groups can tailor their programs for your specific needs.  Call Doug Yetter at 644.3810 ext. 2 or email him at dyetter@ClearSpaceProductions.org

Backstage

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

David Button, our new administrative assistant, is currently updating our volunteer base. We need volunteers who can give just a few specific hours or who could work on an entire project. The categories are as follows:

  • Load-In/Load-Out (2 Hours) Move costumes, props and sets to the theatre
  • Crew (35 Hours over 1 Week) Work backstage for an entire run of a show
  • Ironers (4 Hours) Prepare costumes for a performance
  • Front-of-House (4 Hours) Box Office and Café assistance during a show
  • Bulk Mailing (Flexible) Prepare large mailings for distribution
